Terms of Service
Effective October 15, 2026
These terms cover the DeisHacks website and the Hacker Hub. By signing in to the hub, you agree to them. Participation in the event itself also follows the official DeisHacks registration rules and Brandeis University policies.
Who can use the Hacker Hub
The hub is for people who have registered for DeisHacks. Registrants must be at least 18 and enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program at an academic institution, as described in the registration rules.
Your account
- Sign in only as yourself, with the email address you registered with, or a Google or Discord account that uses it.
- Sign-in links are personal. Do not forward them or share them with anyone.
- Keep your profile accurate, so organizers and teammates can plan around it.
Acceptable use
Please do not:
- try to access another person's account or information;
- probe, disrupt or bypass the security of the site, the hub or its services;
- post content that is harassing, discriminatory, misleading or unlawful;
- use the hub to send spam or collect other people's information.
- invite people who have not agreed to hear about DeisHacks. Only invite friends you know.
Content you provide
You keep ownership of what you write in your profile and feedback. You give DeisHacks permission to store and use it to run the event and improve the hub, as described in the Privacy Policy.
Suspending access
Organizers may remove or suspend hub access if these terms or the event rules are broken, or to protect other participants.
The service
The website and hub are run by student volunteers and provided as they are. We work to keep them available and accurate, but we cannot guarantee they will always be online or free of errors. Event details may change; we will post updates on the site and by email.
Changes
If we change these terms, we will update the date above. Continuing to use the hub after a change means you accept the updated terms.
