Do I need to know how to code?
No. DeisHacks welcomes different majors and skill levels. Design, research and business thinking all help teams solve nonprofit challenges.
Do I need to stay for the whole event?
No. You can attend part of the weekend. Attending in-person events gives you opportunities to win prizes.
Who can participate?
The 2027 registration rules welcome students aged 18 and over who are enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program at any academic institution. No coding experience is required.
When is DeisHacks 2027?
February 26–28, 2027, in person at Brandeis University in Waltham, Massachusetts. The detailed schedule and room information will be shared closer to the event.
What will we work on?
Teams work on challenges faced by local nonprofits. The 2027 partners and challenge briefs will be announced ahead of the event.
Can I bring a team?
Yes. You can bring a team or find one at the event. Each participant can belong to one team, and each team submits one project.
What do we submit?
The registration rules require an original project built during the hackathon and a video demo of no more than three minutes. Tailor your solution to the nonprofit challenge you choose.
How can a nonprofit get involved?
Contact the DeisHacks team at deishacks@brandeis.edu to discuss a nonprofit challenge or ways to support the event.
